the 2019 Silver – Achievement in Quality Award

Life Care Center of Jefferson City, Tennessee, recently received the 2019 Silver – Achievement in Quality Award from the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living.

The center was notified of its achievement on June 27. Only 183 Silver awards were given this year nationwide.

“We are committed to providing services with superior quality and meeting our community’s needs,” said Juan Miranda, executive director. “This award represents our continuous mission to put our residents as our highest priority.”

Implemented by AHCA/NCAL in 1996, the National Quality Award Program is centered on the criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program. The program assists providers of long-term and post-acute care services in achieving their performance excellence goals.

The program has three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Facilities begin at the Bronze level and must earn an award at each level before applying for the next. They must fill out a detailed application for each tier. Life Care Center of Jefferson City earned the Bronze level in 2017.

The center’s application for the Silver Award touched on efforts in multiple areas, including overall customer satisfaction, reducing re-hospitalization rates, increasing the number of successful returns home and staff retention and satisfaction.

“We have a strong, knowledgeable clinical team,” said Miranda. “When our team members combine their knowledge with the passion and desire to make a difference, we produce excellent results. Our facility stands out because we truly care about our residents, families and associates. That is the biggest compliment I could give to our team. I would also like to thank our regional and divisional team for the constant, undivided support.”

The Award will be presented formally during AHCA/NCAL’s 70th Annual Convention and Exposition, Oct. 13 – 16, in Orlando, Florida.

“Achievement of the Silver National Quality Award is a prestigious accomplishment recognized throughout the health care community, and we are very proud of the associates at Life Care Center of Jefferson City for their hard work to reach this goal,” said Beecher Hunter, Life Care president. “The award is also symbolic of a highly functioning team because it takes the commitment of every associate to win it.”
